The Cartier ‘Travel with Style’ Concours D’Elegance has showcased the crème de la crème of vintage automobiles since its inception in 2008. Now in its third installment, it promises to push the envelope further by displaying the sixty best vintage cars in the country, handpicked by its curator, Indian automotive historian Rana Manvendra Singh of Bharwani. The event is directed by Mark Shand, the brother of The Dutchess of Cornwall. Over the last two editions of the exhibition, the jury has comprised vintage car connoisseurs such as HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Oliver Martinez, Marc Newson, David Clark, Gordon Murray and Yasmin Le Bon.
The timeless automobiles are judged on various parameters such as originality and current condition under categories that include, ‘The Edwardian Class’ ,‘The Indian Heritage Class’, ‘The Pre and Post war Class’, ‘The Roadster Class’ and the ‘Shikar Class’ which as the name suggests, will include cars that were specially modified to facilitate hunting. The title every proud owner will be vying for is the ‘The car of the show Award’.
This year for the first time, the exhibition will showcase vintage motorcycles as well which will compete in ‘The Pre War Classics, The Post War Classics’ and ‘Racing’ categories. The third Concours D’Elegance will be held on Saturday, February 9
