Car maker Ford India on Sunday reported a four-fold increase in sales to 8,739 units in July, 2010, as against 2,146 units in the same period last year.
"An overwhelming consumer demand for the new Ford Figo drove sales," the company said in a statement.
Since its launch in March, the company has received 29,000 bookings for Figo so far.
The company had earlier decided to ship out Figo to markets in the Asia-Pacific region, in addition to South Africa.
Ford sold 46,751 vehicles during January-July period.
