The country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda on Tuesday reported sales of 4,66,524 units for January, 2011 registering a jump of 19.68% over the same month last year.
The company had sold 3,89,802 units in January last year, Hero Honda said in a statement.
"Our strong sales for January have provided an excellent start to the new year and also helped continue the sales momentum of the last calendar year," Hero Honda Motors senior vice-president (marketing and sales) Anil Dua said.
This is the ninth consecutive month of four lakh-plus sales, coming on the back of five-lakh plus sales each in October and December 2010, he added.
Dua said going forward, the company would aim to build on the strong trend and further consolidate its position as the market leader.
