Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has just launched its new flagship motorcycle for the Indian market, the Gold Wing GL1800. Two variants of the Gold Wing have been launched - the Gold Wing Audio Comfort and Gold Wing Airbag.
The Audio Comfort variant gets a number of useful features like heated grips and individually adjustable heated seats. It also comes equipped with three panniers (which can accomodate 150 litres), six speakers and an 80-watt surround sound system.
The top-of-the-line model comes equipped with an airbag system. The passenger gets a contoured seat, grab rails and comfortable footrests.
Both models get cruise control and an electronic reverse gear to back the heavy bike up in parking situations.
The massive motorcycle comes with a four-stroke, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine that displaces 1,832cc.
Safety features such as a CBS (Combined Braking System) and ABS are provided standard, with twin disc brakes in front and a single unit behind, to help bring the heavy, 420kg bike to a halt. This motorcycle has an aluminum frame and a single-side swingarm at rear.
The Audio Comfort variant is available in a red and black dual-tone paint scheme and is priced at Rs 28.50 lakh whereas, the top-end Airbag variant is available in white and retails for Rs. 31.50 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
