Alongside its special edition 208 Roland Garros sedan, Peugeot has presented a new version of its Metropolis scooter to commemorate the next edition of the tennis tournament. The Peugeot Metropolis 400 Roland Garros will go on sale for €8,999 (around $12,500).
This version of the French manufacturer's three-wheeled scooter stands out for its pearl white fairings, its stitched leather seat in a "clay court" color, and its Roland Garros logo. Powered by a 37hp single-cylinder engine, this version of the Peugeot Metropolis even has room for a tennis racket in a dedicated storage compartment under the seat.
Among other features, the Peugeot Metropolis 400 Roland Garros has an aluminum front grip, a power parking brake and electronic tire pressure sensors.
This limited edition scooter also celebrates the 1st anniversary of the launch of the Metropolis, Peugeot's first three-wheeled scooter. The model was introduced to compete with the popular three-wheeled models from Italian brand Piaggio. 2014 is also the 30th anniversary of the partnership between Peugeot and the French Open, also known as the Roland Garros.
The French Open will take place at the Roland Garros arena outside of Paris from Sunday, May 25 through June 8.
