Pune-based Kinetic Engineering Ltd on Tuesday said it is in discussions with Tata Motors for setting up an assembly unit at Sanand to supply components for its small car Nano.
“We had discussed with Tata Motors about a potential assembly unit at Sanand,” said Sulajja Firodia Motwani, vice-chairperson, Kinetic Engineering. “As far as I know the discussions are still on but we have not gone ahead with it. We have been able to meet all the demand from our current factory.”
She added the company was still supplying components to Nano from its Ahmednagar facility. The company supplies gears and shafts for Tata Nano.
Besides, she said the company is also looking to roll out products for Piaggio and Mahindra Navistar in the next 2-3 months.
