With competition hotting up in the compact small car segment, auto major Hyundai on Thursday relaunched its best-selling car i10 with segment leading features like steering mounted controls, bluetooth connectivity and reverse parking sensors.
The i10, which at 20.36 kmpl is the most fuel efficient petrol car after the Nano, is priced between R3.49 lakh for the entry level and R5.91 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the top end automatic variant.
Though the existing car was only under two years old, the change was necessitated after Maruti refurbished its Wagon R and Alto, both strong competitors, earlier this year. Other launches, including Ford Figo and Chevrolet Beat, have also intensified competition.
“We expect to sell over 15,000 units (of i10) per month,” said Arvind Saxena, director (marketing and sales), Hyundai.
