Following the massive restructuring initiated by Enrico Atanasio, the new head of Fiat’s sales and marketing division in India, over half-a-dozen senior officials are learnt to be leaving.

Sources said these include Ricky Walter, who heads import and export, Samit Arora, head of brand communication, and Narendra Sharma, head, Grande Punto product development.

More shakeups are likely as the Italian major tries to get together its solo act. Its cars are still made by its joint venture with Tata Motors, but  Fiat is setting up its own dealerships to sell the vehicles in India.

“We are now a new company. For any new company there will be a new organisation,” the the company spokesperson said, when asked about the exits.

“Many more might leave the company soon,” one source said. Fiat has been struggling to get its strategy right since it re-entered India in 2007. Sales have been steadily declining even as India’s car market has expanded. In April-August, Fiat’s sales dipped by 11.5% at 3,569 units.
