M&M unveils Scorpio with a luxury sting

The Scorpio First, as the luxury SUV is called, was unveiled at the Autocar Performance Show in Mumbai on Thursday, reports Radhika Pancholi.

Imagine this: Leather interiors, motorised sofa arrangement, a private area divided by motor-operated glass partition, a bar along with a chiller, a coffee maker, a walkie-talkie to talk with to the driver. If you thought this was a custom-built car from foreign shores you aren't entirely wrong. Custom-made, yes, but made in India by Mahindra & Mahindra.



The Scorpio First, as the luxury SUV is called, was unveiled at the Autocar Performance Show in Mumbai on Thursday.


The luxury lounge, which is built on the Scorpio platform by M&M in partnership with automobile designer Dilip Chhabria, also boasts of DVD cinema and audio system with an LCD screen as well as a play station. While the company is mulling over the price of the vehicle, Vivek Nayer, Vice President - Marketing, M&M told

: "We let the customers have a look at our offering and based on the feedback we plan to bring it into the market in about a month's time."
