The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) on Wednesday revised its outlook for car sales in the current fiscal and said that a double digit growth in 2009-10 should be achieved.

The company said that unlike last year, this year’s festive season has been one of the best so far with overall sales for September expected to be somewhere around 85,000 units.

“The first half of this fiscal for us has been very good and we have grown by 17 per cent against industry growth of only 7 per cent,” said Shashank Srivastava, chief general manager, sales and marketing, MSIL. “Given the current momentum and the low base in October-December quarter, we are optimistic of double digit growth for the full year.”
