Maserati unveils a limited edition Ghibli Nerissimo at New York Auto Show

Only 450 units of the special edition Maserati Ghibli will be produced in Ghibli, Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 versions.

Maserati unveiled a limited edition model of the Ghibli called the Nerissimo Edition at the New York International Auto Show.

Only 450 units of the special edition will be produced in Ghibli, Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4 versions.

The “Nerissimo”, a word based on an Italian expression for “extremely black”, indeed gets dark so that the special Ghibli lives up to its name. The Nerissimo gets 20-inch glossy black Urano wheels, black door handles, window trim and grille features. On the inside, the cabin also gets blacked out with black extended leather interior featuring red stitching and gear-shift paddles, Inox sport pedals, red brake calipers, dark mirror interior trim, sport seats and steering wheel.

For the driver, the Ghibli Nerissimo will have features like blind spot assist, front and rear parking sensors and remote start as standards. The Ghibli S and S Q4 versions of the Nerissimo will be equipped with Harman Kardon stereo systems.

Each Nerissimo vehicle will have a badge located on the center console highlighting the fact that it is one of only 450 total produced. There will be two package options for the owner to choose from -- Luxury and Sport.

Under the hood, the Ghibli hosts a Ferrari’s 3.0-litre V6, twin turbo-charged engine, which when mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission delivers 404hp. Maserati’s Q4 all-wheel drive also ensures top-class performance from the Ghibli Nerissimo which claims to clock 0 to 96 kph in 4.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 283kph.

The Maserati had additionally displayed two S versions of the Modena-based company’s first SUV, the Levante, as well as the Quattroporte S Q4 GranSport and GranTurismo Sport Special Edition.
