Nov 19, 2010 : Tata begins open sales of Nano in 6 more states. To extend it throughout the country by March 2011.

Nov 10, 2010 : Company reconfirms Nano's robustness after sixth car catches fire in the country. Offers to provide additional protection in exhaust system and electrical systems free of cost.

Oct 29, 2010 : Nano gets second price hike. This time by Rs 9,000 citing input cost pressure.

Oct 5, 2010 : Tata motors starts open sale of Nano in 4 states. Had started open sales first in Kerala in August.

July 2010 : Nano gets its first price hike at around 3-4% across all models.

June 2, 2010 : Sanand factory for Nano inaugurated with a capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum expandable upto 3.5 lakh units.

May 21, 2010 : Tata concludes investigation on fire incidents. Says car is safe and robust and fires were isolated. Offers free inspections of all Nanos on the road again.

Oct 21, 2009 : Tata ordere pre emptive audit checks on all 7,500 Nanos on road taking cognizance of the fire incidents.

Sept-Oct 2009 : Atleast three Nanos catch fire in Delhi, Ahmedabad and Lucknow.

July 17, 2009 : First Nano delivered to Ashok Raghunath Vichare in Mumbai.

May 4, 2009 : Nano receives 2.03 lakh bookings. Top end variant gets 50% bookings.

March 23, 2009 : Ratan Tata launches the Nano. Bookings to open on April 9 and close on April 25.
