Mumbai-based custom bike maker Vardenchi will unveil the new VArdenchi-Moto Morini motorcycle at the 2014 Auto Expo. Vardenchi and Italian motorcycle manufacturer Moto Morini had announced their partnership at the EICMA show in Milan last year.

Jointly developed by the two firms, the bike will use the Italian manufacturer's 1187cc, V-twin powerplant and will be produced by Vardenchi at its Mumbai facility in limited numbers for sale in India and Europe. The 2014 Auto Expo will also serve as the launch pad for the Moto Morini brand in India.

Initially, Vardenchi will sell two bikes from Italian range – namely the Scrambler and the Gran Passo. The Scrambler looks particularly well-suited to India. The all-terrain bike features Morini’s 1187cc V-twin engine that puts out 118bhp of power. The second offering in India will be the Gran Passo. It’s an adventure bike the size of a BMW R1200GS. It features Morini’s 118bhp, 1187cc V-twin and comes with top-spec kit such as Marzocchi upside-down forks, an Ohlins monoshock, a slipper clutch and Brembo disc brakes front and rear.

Prices for the premium bikes will be announced around June this year when the first lot of Moto Morini’s land in India.
