German performance sports brand Porsche on Wednesday launched its second-generation Panamera sports sedan in two variants -- Turbo at Rs 1.93 crore and Turbo Executive Rs 2.06 crore (ex-showroom Maharashtra).
The new Panamera is powered by a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine that churns out 550hp power and delivers 770 Nm torque, which is 30hp and 70Nm more than the previous edition.
The V8 sends power to all four wheels through an eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) dual-clutch automatic gearbox. There are four driving modes – Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual -- for the driver to choose what he wants the car to do – glide, breeze or roar.
The driver can also turn off four of the eight pots to save fuel and conserve power when not needed, thanks to Porsche’s adaptive cylinder control.
Also the new Turbo machine can clock 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds, and in 3.6 seconds when boosted by the Sport Chrono Package. The Turbo Executive has 150mm longer wheelbase than the Turbo Panamera for more comfort, but it’s slower, slower by just 0.1 second. Both top speed remains the same for both -- 306kph.
Answering the Indian question of ‘Kitna deti hain?’, here’s the figure: 7.8 kmpl in cities and 13.8 kmpl outside of the urban spaces.
