Due to go on sale in Q1 2015, the next-generation Renault Espace was one of the most anticipated premieres of the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The MPV was also the most mentioned car in relevant social network and blog posts ahead of the event, according to Kantar Media.
Renault was the most mentioned car manufacturer on social networks ahead of the Paris Motor Show, with a 15.9 percent share of the discussion, ahead of Peugeot (12.5%) and Audi (7.1%). In terms of reporting on websites and blogs, Kantar Media reports that the three major French brands came out on top: Renault (8.8%), Peugeot (8.4%) and Citroën (6.7%).
Among specific vehicles, the Renault Espace elicited the highest volume of commentary on social networks before the event, ahead of the Volvo XC90 and the Renault Eolab concept. Next came the Peugeot Quartz and Exalt concepts, the Ford Mustang, the Honda Civic Type-R and Civic, the Audi TT Sportback Concept and the Peugeot 208.
On websites and blogs, the Renault Espace once again led the pack, followed by the Fiat 500X. The Renault Eolab and Citroën Divine DS concepts took third and fourth place, ahead of the Volvo XC90, the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Opel Corsa, the Audi TT, the Skoda Fabia and the Ferrari 458 Speciale.
Kantar Media's analysis is based on the period just ahead of the Paris Motor Show, between September 1 and October 3.
