Utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra on Wednesday said it plans to enter the US market with its electric vehicles from the newly-acquired Reva within the next five years.
“We are looking at the US market and should bethere within the next five years,” said R Chandramouli , chief of operations, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles.
The company has sold about 3,700 units since launching its first car in 2001, mostly in London and Bangalore. The US, however, is the largest electric vehicle market as the government provides various incentives amounting to $7,500 on them.
Mahindra is also planning to launch electric variants of all its vehicles in the near future.
