A brand new Tata Nano car, on its way to be delivered in Vadodara, caught fire near Boriyavi village of Anand district, barely a month since a similar case in Mumbai last month.

The incident took place on National Highway 8, when a fleet of eleven Tata Nano cars was being driven to a dealer in Ahmedabad to be delivered in Vadodara, local police said. One of the Nano cars caught fire in its rear portion.

“I have not heard about this case yet and have to get full details before I can comment on the same,” said Debasis Ray, spokesperson, Tata Motors.
