Tata Motors, on Thursday reported a 39 per cent growth in its global sales at 101,712 units in March, 2010.
The Tata Motors’ global group comprises of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover.
Cumulative sales for the fiscal 2009-10 stood at 872,951, a 19 per cent growth over the same period in 2008-09.
Sales of all commercial vehicles were 47,936 units in March 2010, up 53 per cent in March 2009, while cumulative sales for the fiscal were 413,057 units — a growth of 37 per cent.
Sales of all the passenger vehicles were 53,776 units in March 2010, a 28 per cent growth over the year-ago period, while cumulative sales for the fiscal at 459,894 units showed a 6 per cent increase year on year.
Tata passenger vehicle sales, including those distributed in India, were 30,238 units for March, a growth of 18 per cent; cumulative sales for the fiscal were 265,912 units, a growth of 24 per cent.
British marquee brands Jaguar Land Rover also posted a robust growth with global sales in March 2010 at 23,538 vehicles, higher by 43 per cent. Jaguar sales for the month were 4,642, up 8 per cent.
