Tata's Tayo enters into agreement with Yodogawa

Tayo Rolls Limited, a Tata enterprise, has entered into a technical know-how and license agreement with its Japanese promoters Yodogawa Steel works for transfer of technology.

The agreement is aimed at upgradation and manufacture of high speed steel rolls, semi-high speed rolls and super nickle grain roll.

Major high end steel manufacturers across the globe are switching to High Speed (HSS) rolls and semi-HSS rolls, the company release stated in Jamshedpur on Wednesday.

HSS rolls have replaced high chrome iron-rolls and semi-HSS rolls have replaced high chorme steel rolls due to their better performance and technical characteristics, the released added.

After a gap of more than three-decades, Tata and Yodogawa were coming together in furthering the relationship, the release added.

Yodogawa steel works Ltd is among very few rolls makers in the world having the latest state-of-the-art technology and supplying to leading high end steel mills across the world.
