Toyota has launched the all-new Camry Hybrid, priced at Rs. 29.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The luxury saloon is the first locally manufactured hybrid vehicle in India, which is manufactured at Toyota’s plant located in Bidadi, Karnataka.
The new Camry Hybrid comes with a 2.5-litre petrol engine assisted by an electric motor, with the hybrid system producing a total power output of 202bhp. The engine is mated to an electronically-controlled continuous variable transmission (e-CVT). The hybrid system’s battery is nickel metal hydride, while the battery’s capacity stands at 6.5amp/hr. The battery pack itself sits behind the back seat.
In terms of features, the car comes with a powered reclining rear seat, three-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, tilt and telescopic steering column with memory function, and a collapsible headrest for the front passenger seat. Safety features include four airbags, hill start assist control, vehicle stability control, traction control and corner sensors.
The carmaker claims that the Camry hybrid returns 19.16kpl. It is available in four colours – grey metallic, white pearl crystal shine, silver metallic and attitude black.
