Muktsar ADC to look into AAP charges of vote buying by SAD

Deputy commissioner Paramjit Singh has directed additional deputy commissioner (development) Rambir Singh to look into the allegation of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that AD workers bought votes at Kauni village in Giddarbaha assembly segment, which is part of the Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency.


A delegation from the AAP met the DC on the alleged violation of the election model code of conduct, after which this decision was taken.

“I have marked an inquiry to Rambir Singh, ADC (development) and action will be taken accordingly. The report will be scrutinised extensively,” said Muktsar DC Paramjit Singh.

Sadhu Singh, the AAP candidate from Faridkot, could not be contacted in spite of repeated calls on his cell phone.

One Manoj Kumar, wh o claimed to be Sadhu Singh’s personal assistant, claimed that he was out and then said that he (Sadhu) would not be able to talk as he had hearing problems.

Muktsar ADC Rambir Singh told Hindustan Times that he was out of town and would star t work on the case from Monday.

It has been learnt that one of the two people, who had filmed the purported video showing the buying of votes, had submitted a compact disc to the deputy commissioner.

Additional chief electoral officer, Punjab Raminder Singh told Hindustan Times that a report from Muktsar deputy commissioner was expected on Monday on the basis of which the action would be taken in the case.
