Police complaint filed against mobile company for damaging water line

Even as water supply has not resumed to several areas due to supply line getting snapped due to digging work done by a mobile phone company to lay cables in the area, the public health department has on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the district police in this regard.

The water supply to localities along Bhagu road, district administrative complex, judicial complex, civil hospital, Model Town and central jail could not be resumed 48 hours after the line was snapped.

Though people have been using the water from reverse osmosis plant for drinking purpose, but they are facing difficulties in meeting water needs for the other daily chores.

SDO, public health department, Jaspreet Mann, said that she has written to SHO, civil lines police station, to take action against the erring officials of mobile phone company who resorted to digging work without taking permission of the department. She said that a team of workers was repairing the damaged pipeline and supply could resume by Wednesday evening.

SHO Jaskaran Singh said that he was busy in court works and would have to look into the complaint.
