Punjab, Haryana police officials hold joint meeting

Police officials of Punjab and Haryana, on Friday, held a joint meeting to review the security arrangements along the inter-state border in view of the upcoming elections.


Inspector general of police (IGP), Bathinda zone, Paramraj Singh Umranangal, deputy inspector general (DIG) of Hisar range Saurabh Singh along with DIGs of Bathinda and Patiala range Yurinder Singh Hayer and Shiv Kumar Verma respectively and other police officials took part in the meeting.

Umranangal said that the police officials of both the states shared lists of proclaimed offenders and absconders.

He said that as per the directions of the EC, no outsider will be allowed to stay in the parliamentary constituency 48 hours before polling.

“A special vigil will be kept on possible terrorist hideouts in parts of Haryana affected in the days of militancy in Punjab,” the IGP said, adding that one such meeting will be held with the police officials of Rajasthan.
