While her parents run a food-delivery business, she is giving meaning to their toil. Charu, a science (non-medical) student at Malout’s Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa Senior Secondary School, has got third position in Class 12 of the Punjab School Education Board declared on Sunday. She got 98%.
Speaking to HT over the phone from Ludhiana, where she is taking coaching for entrance exams, Charu, who does not use a surname, said, “I have no words to explain how happy this result has made me.
It’s a ray of hope and motivation for me not to let my dreams fade away.” She gave the credit to her school: “My teachers have supported and helped me even at odd hours if I ever got stuck in my lessons. I never took any tuitions; this is the result of self-study and extra notes provided by my teachers.”
Explaining her study routine, she said, “I never burdened my self during exams and kept a nor mal routine. I just made sure I revised what was taught everyday in school.” She plans to go into mathematics and get “a PhD from Delhi University”.
