A 22-year-old engineering student was hit by a bus and crushed to death under the wheels of another on Chetak Bridge tri-section in Bhopal, police said on Thursday.
Govinpura police have seized both buses and registered a case against the drivers, who managed to flee from the spot.
The accident occurred when the victim, Shweta Shrivastava, and her friend were going to their college on a scooty to write the last paper of their final year examination.
A computer science student of the Sagar Institute of Research and Technology and Science (SIRTS), Shrivastava fell off the two-wheeler, driven by her friend Surabhi Gupta, when hit by a speeding feeder bus from the rear.
As the women lost balance and fell on the road a MyBus, coming from the same side, ran over Shrivastava.
The woman was rushed to the city hospital where doctors declared her dead. Gupta too received several injuries in the accident.
After the incident, the SIRTS administration cancelled the external examination.
The classmates of the victim have demanded a ban on minibuses running on MP roads and accused the drivers of recklessness.
