Three people, two of them are serial rapists, were arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl and filming the act in Katni, police said on Thursday. In other incidents involving sexual exploitation of minors in the state, the head of a school for speech- and hearing-impaired was booked for allegedly raping two girls staying at the hostel, while in Dewas a six-tear-old was raped in the school.
In the first incident in Katni, Madhav Nagar police said the girl, a Class 8 student, was reported missing from her house since February 19. When she didn’t return till February 21, her parents lodged a complaint.
On February 22, the police got a tip-off that the girl was found at the Katni railway station.
The girl told police that she had eloped with her lover Sunny Yadav in a goods carriage van, which was stolen, on February 19.
The girl was sent for a medical checkup and it was found that she had serious injuries in her private parts. The girl told police that Sunny and two other men had raped her.
“Sunny was arrested. During interrogation, he said he raped her along with two other unknown men after tying her to a tree in a jungle on the outskirts of Katni,” said Madhav Nagar town inspector Gayetri Soni.
“During the interrogation, Sunny said the two men filmed the act. They came out of the bushes and tied him up to a tree and raped the victim. While raping her, they allegedly shot the whole act on their mobile and said threatened them of dire consequences if they disclose the incident to anyone.
The police later arrested the other two accused, identified as Umesh Bhumia (35) and Bhola Sahu (40) from the area on February 24, the police said.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to have gang-raped the girl, the police said.
The two men also confessed that they had raped girls earlier by pouncing on the lovers and filming them on their mobile phones.
They police confiscated their mobile phones to recover the photos and videos of the victims.
School head faces case for raping minors in Damoh
The Damoh police registered a case against head of a school for speech- and hearing-impaired for allegedly raping two girls staying at the hostel. The accused is absconding.
Of the 103 children registered with NGO-run Anant school for speech- and hearing-impaired and hostel, headed by Pratap Yadav, stay in the hostel. Thirty-four of them are girls.
On February 19, two girls, aged 12 and 14, ran away from hostel.
A missing report was filed at Kotwali police.
The girls were spotted by Ujjain police, who handed them to Ujjain Children Welfare Society (CWS). A joint team was sent to Ujjain that brought the girls to Damoh on Wednesday evening.
The Damoh Child Welfare Committee called sign expert to understand what happened to the girls.
They told an expert in sign language that they ran away because school director Yadav was sexually exploiting the girls.
Kotwali town inspector RK Soni said after a case under section 376, Posco Act and SC/ST Atrocity Act has been lodged against Yadav.
6-year-old raped in school in Dewas
A six-year old girl was raped in a school bathroom in Prasad Nagar, Dewas town, on Thursday afternoon.
The accused is yet to be identified. Civil Lines police have registered case of rape against unidentified people.
When the girl came home in the afternoon, her mother noticed blood in her private parts. When questioned, she told her mother that an man raped her in the school bathroom.
