3 businessmen robbed of Rs 50,000 worth cash, jewelry in Bhopal

About eight armed miscreants robbed three businessmen of cash and jewelry worth over Rs 50,000 when the businessmen were returning home from a farm house in Ratibad in Bhopal after a party late on Saturday night.

The robbers beat up the victims with lathis before relieving them of their valuables but not only returned wallets to the businessmen with all documents intact, but also helped them to bring their SUV back on road, which had skidded off when they were attacked.

According to Ratibad police, Deepak Soni, Varad Mehta and Shobhit Jain, the victims, are real estate businessmen who had gone for a party at a farm house in Ratibad and were returning home in a SUV driven by Warad Mehta, who also owns a bar in MP Nagar.

Mehta spotted a boulder on the road near Sanskar Valley school. As soon as he stopped the vehicle, a group of people started pelting stones.

Mehta tried to move back the vehicle but it skidded off the road. The miscreants attacked them, made off with four rings including a diamond rings and cash worth Rs 17,500 and threatened with consequences if the victims come to the area again.

The victims lodged a complaint with the Ratibad police and informed family members and friends who took them to a private hospital. The victims were later discharged after preliminary treatment.

The police said that a case had been registered and search was on to nab the accused.
