As many as 33 people were injured following stone pelting between two communities at Palsud town here on Friday afternoon. Additional forces were deployed soon after the incident to control the situation.
Barwani superintendent of police (SP), Tilak Singh who also rushed to Palsud, told HT that clashes started over bursting of fire crackers near a religious place. Soon, people began to pelt stones at each other. As many as 33 persons sustained minor injuries in the clash. Police also had to resort to cane-charge to disperse the crowd. Over 50 people have also been booked for creating ruckus. Additional forces were deployed and situation was brought under control, the SP said.
The Barwani police are quizzing the detainees and investigating the circumstances surrounding the group clash.
