A saw mill owner in Bhopal was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl and her sister two months back. The 53-year-old accused had allegedly also inserted a wooden object into the child’s private parts, resulting in serious injuries to the victim.

The crime came to light when the doctor treating the girl got suspicious that something was wrong with the child. During one of the sessions the girl had narrated the incident to the doctor.

According to superintendent of police (North), Bhopal, Arvind Saxena, the parents of the victims worked at the mill of the accused and also stayed there.

The accused at first raped the elder sister, also a minor, after which he sexually assaulted the younger one. When she resisted, he put a piece of wood in her private part.

The mill owner had threatened the girl’s parents not to disclose the incident to anyone and assured them of providing money for the treatment of the child.

The girl was taken to several doctors in the past two months by her parents, but could not be cured until a doctor in Gautam Nagar found out what had actually happened.

The SP said both the sisters were sent for medical examination. The accused has been booked under several sections of IPC and POCSO Act, 2012.
