Bhopal: A 62-year-old man died in a lift-mishap in Indore’s New Siyaganj area on Friday.
The man got stuck between the floor of a storey and the door of the lift when the lift suddenly restarted.
The man has been identified as Mohan Lal Bhatia, who worked in the shopping complex of the New Siyaganj area, which falls under the MG Road Police station in Indore.
According to MG Road Police, Mohan Lal Bhatia had gone down in the basement through the lift along with a customer to show him some product.
After showing him the product, Mohan Lal was coming back from basement to the first floor in the lift. While going up, the lift suddenly stopped. Mohan stuck his neck out from the opened door of the lift to push the start button of the lift, police said.
When he did that, the lift started with a jerk and he was stuck between the floor of the storey and the door of the lift. He was seriously injured and succumbed to his injuries at the mishap site. The police and locals had a tough time to take out his stuck body from the lift.
Police said a part of the lift had to be cut to take out the body. The body has been sent for the post mortem, police added .
