More than three quintals of pulses and equipment were destroyed in a fire that broke out at the Bhawani Dal Mill at Bairgarh township in Bhopal on Friday.
Several important documents were destroyed in a second fire that broke out at the food and drugs administration office in Idgah Hills. Police have registered separate cases in both the incidents.
According to police, a fire broke out at Bhawani Dal Mill owned by Ramchandra Pardasani, which is located near vegetable market in Bairagarh.
Police said some vegetable vendors spotted smoke bellowing from the mill and informed the police. Six fire tenders took about an hour to douse the flames.
Mahesh Pardasani, son of the mill owner, told reporters that over three quintals pulses and machineries were destroyed in the blaze.
Fire broke out in one of the two plants of the mill. “The estimated loss is over Rs 50 lakh. We are counting the loss and will be able to tell the exact loss by tomorrow (Saturday),” he said.
In the second incident, fire engulfed four rooms of food and drugs administration office. Joint controller of food and drugs administration, Pramod Shukla, said several important documents in the rooms had been completely destroyed.
“It seems fire broke out due to short circuit. An inquiry is being carried out to find out the real cause,” he told HT.
City superintendent of police (Shahjehanabad), Sameer Yadav, said a security guard deployed at office reported about the blaze first. He said a case had been registered and investigation was on in the matter.
