As many as 71 persons, including crew members, onboard a Delhi-Bhopal Air India flight had a close shave as the plane faced a technical snag while landing at Raj Bhoj airport on Friday. However, the pilot managed to land the plane safely.
According to an Air India official, the Delhi-Bhopal flight (AI 833) took off from Delhi about 1.30 pm and landed at Raj Bhoj Airport Bhopal at 2.50 pm. When the plane touched down the run way, one of its wheels got jammed. However, pilot managed to land the plane safely. Later, the aircraft was pulled to apron. Station manager of Air India, Feroz Khan said all passengers de-boarded safely.
“There were 64 passengers onboard and they were de-boarded safely. It was a technical problem which I can’t discuss. The plane is still parked at Airport and technical problem is being redressed. Now, it would take off on tomorrow,” he told HT.
It was the second incident at Raj Bhoj airport within a week. On June 15, Delhi-bound AI flight had to be landed five minutes after it took off due to snag in the engine.
