Bhopal: Amit Shah to inaugurate BJP activists' convention

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is organising a mega activists' convention in Bhopal on October 30-31. The event has been planned ahead of the upcoming civic body polls in the state.
As many as 23,000 party workers would attend the convention. The activists from all wards and blocks of the state will come to the state capital to attend the convention. There are around 17,000 booths and the in-charge of each of them have been called, apart from MPs, MLAs, district heads and other party office-bearers.
BJP state president Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan said all the party leaders and workers are coming to Bhopal and would stay at party workers' houses. Nearly 11,000 houses have already been identified for the purpose.
"Party national president Amit Shah has given his consent to attend the event. He will inaugurate the two-day convention," said Chauhan. Besides, other senior party leaders have also been extended invitation. Union ministers Sushma Swaraj and Venkaiah Naidu would attend the event, said party sources.
Regarding the appointments in the executive body and other posts in the state, Chauhan said all these appointments would be made immediately after the civic elections. The civic elections will be over in December. Subsequently, the posts will be filled, he said.
