The flip flop by newly elected Bhopal district panchayat president Manmohan Nagar whether he was in the Congress or BJP continued on Friday as well.

Nagar reached the BJP office on Friday evening and said he was a member of the BJP and had been forcibly taken to the Congress office on Thursday. Interestingly, he also said he had lost his mental balance when he said he was a Congress member.

Nagar is elected by the members of the district panchayat. Elections are not held on party lines though the president and members are usually the members of some political party.

On Thursday, Nagar was elected unopposed as president of Bhopal district panchayat. Nagar had been a member of the Congress party since many years.

On Thursday, BJP leaders claimed that Nagar had taken membership of the BJP on Thursday morning and hence was a BJP leader. He had also garlanded the busts of Deen dayal Upadhyay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. However, later in the evening he went to the Congress office and said he was a member of the Congress party since many years and would never quit.

Sources said Huzur MLA Rameshwar Sharma, who had engineered this defection, got a lot of flak from party leaders when his plan went bust and Nagar announced he was a Congressman.

So on Friday, Nagar again reached the BJP office where he was received by former MLA Arvind Bhadoria and Huzur MLA Rameshwar Sharma.

Nagar then announced that he had taken membership of the BJP after meeting the CM at 7.30 am on Thursday morning prior to being elected as president of the Bhopal district panchayat. Nagar said he had garlanded the busts of BJP leaders at the state party office and was then forcibly taken to the Congress.
