Special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta on Friday registered a case against suspended assistant inspector general of police (AIG) Anil Kumar Mishra for misusing his authority. Mishra has been charged by a Jaipur based woman with raping her.

The woman had lodged a complaint at Lokayukta Bhopal in July this year alleging that Mishra had taken Rs 13 lakh from her in different installments for 'helping her' in getting her husband released from jail. The woman's husband was booked by the police in a fraud case and is still in jail.

Superintendent of police (SP), Lokayukta Birendra Singh said the allegation of the woman was found true in the preliminary investigation. The case has been registered against him under section 13 (D) and 13-2 of Prevention of Corruption Act.

"We have conducted an inquiry and following the inquiry report we registered a case. We have also started further course of action," said Birendra Singh.

In the month of July, this year, Jaipur based woman, 40, had lodged a complaint against Mishra at Woman police station, Jaipur accusing Mishra of repeatedly raping her and blackmailing her. Mishra, a 1995 batch state police service officer who was posted at Crime Investigation Department (CID), went missing after the case was registered against him.
