A day after a newborn girl child was found in a bush in TT Nagar, police on Monday established the identity of the girl’s mother. Police have registered a case against mother under Section 317 of IPC.

The woman hails from Chhindawara district and was living with her elder sister in Bhopal for the last two months. On Sunday evening, the 25-year-old gave birth to a baby girl but threw the baby in bush, fearing infamy in the society as she is unmarried. Locals spotted the child and informed police and 108 Emergency Services. The child was admitted to Kamla Nehru Hospital and her condition is said to be stable.

Meanwhile, the woman was admitted to JP Hospital by her sister after her condition deteriorated. However, she is reportedly stable.

Police sources said the woman was in a relationship with a youth in her home town. Earlier, her paramour denied marrying her and she came to her sister’s place in Bhopal.

TT Nagar police said action would be taken against woman once she would be discharged from the hospital.
