The BJP's mayoral candidate in Bhopal Alok Sharma said on Tuesday that there was no infighting in the BJP over his candidature. Sharma said that the party leaders were unanimous on his name as the party's candidate and it could be gauged from the fact that only his name had been forwarded ahead of the declaration of his candidature.
He said there was no infighting in the BJP and the fact remained that all the party leaders including the local BJP MLAs and the MPs were campaigning for the party.
Sharma said if he is elected as the mayor, an effective sewage system in the capital city would be his first and foremost priority. Replicating Bangalore city's model, there would be a plant to dispose garbage in every locality and garbage would be used for generation of power as well.
He said his another priority would be to ensure availability of water in every house. For instance, Narmada water was not available in Kolar area despite the fact the pipeline carrying Narmada water ran through the locality.
