A day after a 26-year-old woman alleged that her boyfriend poisoned her in order to thwart their marriage plan, the police have launched a hunt for the latter. The accused, Shivam Sharma, a builder, has been booked for rape on her complaint.
The police said they are looking for Sharma as they have to record his statement and verify the complainant’s statements.
The case diary has been handed over to Chhola police station, as the accused’s house where the incident occurred, falls under the jurisdiction of Chhola police station.
The condition of the woman, who is a Bhopal-based model, has improved. After the case of rape was registered on late Tuesday night, the complainant was taken to Sultania Zenana Hospital on Wednesday for medical examination. But mystery surrounds the entire incident, especially, the allegation that Sharma had given poisoned juice to her.

Though police officials said that the preliminary medical report didn’t confirm poison, the police are yet to get the complete report. "The viscera sample would be sent to forensic lab and its report will reveal if there was poison or not," said a police official. Town inspector Mohan Sarwan said that efforts are on to arrest Sharma.
In a separate development, PEB scam accused Sudhir Sharma’s family has denied that Shivam Sharma is their relative. "He is neither connected to us, nor has any relation with us," said Sharma’s wife Rakhi Sharma, in a statement issued on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the complainant’s suicide note will also be sent for examination. The complainant has told the police that Shivam Sharma promised that he would marry her, but instead sexually exploited her and later refused to marry her. "When I insisted, he told me that he would marry me soon," she said.
"However, when I came to his place with jewellery, he tried to smother me with a pillow. Later, I managed to save myself. Then, he gave me the poisoned juice, which I drank, and subsequently, my condition worsened," she told the media.
The policemen had gone to a forest official’s house where the complainant claimed that she was sexually exploited. The house that was given on rent by the official was found locked.
