The news of kidnapping of a 21-year-old woman in Bhopal turned to be false, police said. The woman ran away from her house while spreading a concocted story of her kidnapping by ‘some miscreants in a van’.
Her act, however, put the police in the state capital on its toes for hours before she was spotted in a train near Bina.
On Tuesday evening, the woman, a resident of Narmada Bhawan, had gone to buy some articles from the market. At around 8.30pm the girl sent a message to her brother that she has been kidnapped by some miscreants in a van. The woman is said to be daughter of a gunman of the local Congress MLA Arif Aqueel and the MLA reached the police station. Police swung into action and blocked all the important points in the city areas. An extensive search had been launched and police teams had been deployed at all points.
The woman was in touch with her brother through SMS. Police traced the woman on Tuesday night itself.
The Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the woman from a general compartment of Bhopal Express at Bina railway station.
Superintendent of police (SP) Anshuman Singh said the woman was found at Bina Railway station.
“The woman told police that she wanted to do a job but family members were not in favour of the job. She had made a plan of kidnaping and left for Bulandshehar to do the job,” he said.
Later, the woman was handed over to her family members.
