Megastar Amitabh Bachchan may lend his powerful voice to narrate the story of river Narmada, thought of as the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh.
This was assured by none other than his wife and Rajya Sabha MP, Jaya Bachchan on Tuesday while addressing the concluding function of the three-day-long International River Festival organised at the confluence of river Narmada and Tawa at Bandrabhan in Hoshangabad district.
Jaya, while underlining her relationship with Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh, said that she would love to have Narmada's tale recorded in her husband's voice as part of her maiden contribution towards the Narmada conservation campaign, a release issued by the festival organisers said.
The Narmada Samagra Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP, Anil Dave said that to provide medical facilities to the tribals and other people living on the sidelines of river Narmada, river ambulance facility, which is unique for the country would be launched soon.
These ambulances will be sourced from US to cater to the needs of people living in catchment area of Bargi,Narmanda Sagar and Indira Sagar projects, he said.
The river ambulances will be pressed into service on the day of haat (weekly market) so that tribals and other needy persons can get the medical facility and in case of emergency they can be shifted to hospitals through river route.
