BJP leader Nishant Satsangi, who is often spotted alongside party's national president Amit Shah, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and several of cabinet ministers in photographs, allegedly hatched the plan to kidnap the doctor for Rs 2 crore ransom.

The three other people involved in the case were identified as Dheeraj Sharma, 36, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, Neeraj Javade, 35, a resident of Shyam Nagar, and Akash Dahiya, 22, a resident of Panchsheel Nagar, while the fourth accused, Yogesh Solanki, is absconding.

Habibganj police station town inspector (TI), Sudhir Arjaria, told reporters that Satsangi was under heavy debt and had hatched the conspiracy to abduct the dentist after visiting his clinic recently.

The accused believed that the doctor's family could pay the huge ransom amount after seeing his bungalow in E-7 Arera colony and the queue of patients at his clinic.

The identity of the five accused were established on the basis of a CCTV footage obtained from a house located in front of Dr Jain's house.

"The accused have confessed their crime and further investigation was on. The efforts are also on to nab the absconding accused," Arjaria said adding that the BJP leader along with one of his accomplices had fled to Mumbai soon after abduction bid.

On August 21, the five accused intercepted Dr Jain near his house. While Satsangi and Akash sat in their car, the three others stopped the doctor's car and pulled a gun on Jain's daughter Paridhi Jain.

They asked the doctor t step out of the car at knifepoint, but as he fought back the accused stabbed him repeatedly and fled with his car. They later abandoned Dr Jain's car at Mahavir Gate.
