BSP supporters pelt stones on MP minister’s house in Rewa

A mob of Bahujan Samaj Party supporters allegedly pelted stones at state cabinet minister Rajendra Shukla’s house in Rewa district on Thursday.

A mob of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supporters allegedly pelted stones at state cabinet minister Rajendra Shukla’s house in Rewa district on Thursday.

The incident happened around 2.30 pm in Ahmiya area when around 200 BSP supporters were carrying out a rally to protest against the recent remarks made by UP BJP leader Dayashankar Singh against their party chief and former UP CM Mayawati.

No injury or casualty was reported in the stone pelting but the window glasses on the first floor of the minister’s house were found damaged.

MP mineral resources and industry minister’s personal staff Jai Prakash Tiwari said the matter was reported to the Civil Lines police.

Rewa additional SP Sunil Tiwari, while confirming the episode, said a case against unidentified persons had been lodged and efforts were underway to identify the culprits.

The accused have been booked under Sections 336, 147 and 427 of IPC for act of endangering life or personal safety of others, rioting and mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees.
