Architect Zahida Pervez, the suspected key conspirator in Right to Information (RTI) activist Shehla Masood’s murder in Bhopal, had allegedly made a sex video featuring her and a local BJP legislator Dhruv Narayan Singh in a compromising position, according to the CBI sources.
The CBI recently grilled Singh over his role, if any, in the murder conspiracy.
“The agency has recovered a video made by Pervez, which recorded her and a Bhopal BJP legislator in compromising position. The CD was recovered during CBI's searches at Pervez's residential and official premises, along with other CDs and objects of evidentiary value including her diary. They will be sent for forensic examination,” confirmed the source.
CBI’s investigation has found the legislator was allegedly involved with several women, including Pervez and Masood, and the architect could have prepared the CD to rein him in.
“Pervez must have made the video out of insecurity and losing the legislator to other women. Her insecurity led Pervez to track the legislator's phone records and movements, and ultimately got Masood killed,” said the source.
The CBI is also verifying if Pervez had planned to use the video to blackmail the legislator at some stage.
The source confirmed the legislator will be asked about the video during a polygraph test.
The investigating agency does not think the legislator had any role in the murder.
“The legislator was aware of Pervez’s irritation with Masood since they had a few arguments about her in the past. But there is no evidence yet to suggest his role in the crime,” the source added. Masood was murdered in broad daylight on August 16 last year.
