The census in the state commenced in Bhopal today with the enumerators seeking details from Madhya Pradesh Governor, Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The state's Census Director, Sachin Sinha along with his team began the census by seeking details of the family members of the state's first citizen.
Thakur along with his wife, Narmada provided all necessary information, official sources said.
The Governor also signed on the National Census Register to officially commence the 15th Census in Madhya Pradesh.
Thakur appealed to the people to provide accurate information as future developmental schemes would be based on it.
Later, the census officials knocked the door of Chief Minister at Shyamla Hills to seek details of his family members. Chouhan along with his wife Sadhna provided all necessary details to the enumerators.
Senior officials including Commissioner of Public Relations, Rakesh Shrivastava, Home Secretary, Chandrahas Dubey, Governor's Secretary, J N Malpani, Bhopal Collector, Nikunj Shrivastava and Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Manish Singh were present on the occasion.
