The observers appointed for the upcoming civic body polls were called for a meeting at the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) office on Tuesday.

PCC chief Arun Yadav and Leader of Opposition Satyadev Katare addressed the observers and told them about their role in identifying the suitable contenders from the civic bodies, so that strong and winnable candidate can be selected.

A presentation was given and later the guidelines were issued to them. The observers will go to the civic body for which they have been appointed and meet local party workers and see the ground situation, before identifying the contenders.

Later, they will submit their reports to PCC. On the basis of these reports, the candidates would be selected. The remaining observers will be called on Wednesday.
