Cold wave conditions persist in parts of MP

Cold wave conditions are persisting in northwest parts of the state and minimum temperatures in places like Rewa and Umaria- 4 degrees, Guna- 4.7degrees, Khajuraho - 5.0 degrees, Gwalior - 5.3 degrees, Satna - 6.4 degrees on Friday. In capital Bhopal, despite a partial rise in the minimum temperature8.2 degrees - 3 degrees below normal, the weather remained acutely cold forcing people to opt for woollen clothes even during daytime. On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7.5 degrees - lowest in season till now.

The weather is likely to remain severely cold in most parts of state for at least two to three days more. “Cold wave conditions would continue in northwest The BMC has made arrangements for lighting of bonfires at different public places. From Friday night, bonfires would be lit on the premises of Sultania Women’s Hospital, Yadgar-eShahjehani Park rein basera (night shelter), platform numbers 1 and 6 of the Bhopal railway station, Nadra Bus Stand, Putlighar bus stand, Halalpur bus stand, Somwara mata mandir, Jawahar Chowk, night shelter on Hamidia Hospital premises, JP district hospital, Habibganj railway station, ISBT bus stand and other public places.
