Leader of Opposition in the sssembly Satyadev Katare on Friday released a photograph showing a person Raghvendra Singh Tomar, who is allegedly involved in PEB scam, sitting with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a car.
Alleging that Tomar’s name had come up in investigation of the Professional Examination Board (PEB) scam, Katare asked Chouhan to clarify his relationship with the person.
In a statement issued on Friday, Katare said Tomar had helped several candidates cram the answers before the pre-PG (medical) entrance examination in Bhopal. However, due to his links with top persons, he was saved and the special task force (STF) later made him an approver.
Katare said Tomar’s links with those involved in PEB scam are known. The senior Congress leader said the CM should tell why this person is sitting with him and why he was made an approver.
However, CM’s office rubbished the charge that Chouhan has any association with Tomar.
"This is an old photograph, dating back to the year 2009. Hundreds of persons meet CM and he can’t be connected to all of them... A public personality meets so many people and it can’t be surmised if any one of those he meets, may become accused in a case in future. This is as true for Satyadev Katare who is also a politician and meets lot of persons," said Bhupendra Gautam, chief minister’s press officer.
