BJP's Minority Cell's national Chairman Tanveer Ahmed on Sunday alleged that Congress has developed an expertise in saving "merchants of death" be it Afzal Guru, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab or Warren Anderson.
"Congress has an expertise in saving merchants of death and its leniency towards Anderson, Kasab or Afzal Guru is an example of it," Ahmed told at a press conference in Bhopal.
He was responding to a question on 'merchants of death' remark recently made by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Bihar while launching a scathing attack on Congress President Sonia Gandhi on the issue of release of Anderson after the Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
Referring to Bihar, where the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has returned the flood-relief assistance given by Gujarat to Kosi flood victims, he said that BJP is standing with Kumar in the wider interest of Bihar and its people.
He said that the BJP's base among minorities is increasing day by day and the victory of 90 corporators in the local bodies elections is Madhya Pradesh is an example of it.
Ahmed said that the saffron party's vote share in Madhya Pradesh would increase by 10 per cent as desired by the BJP President Nitin Gadkari and in this more than one-third votes will be of minorities.
He said that the party will field more minority community candidates in the elections in the state.
