Clueless police announced on Wednesday Rs 10,000 for giving information about a 14-year-old boy who was kidnapped from Barrai village in Bagsewaniya area a day before.
Mohit Meena, a Class 7 student, was playing with his friend Nikka outside his house when a man, purportedly 20 years old, asked him to come with him to agricultural land of his (Mohit’s) father . They both got ready for pillion riding but the man left Nikka and took Mohit along with him.
Mohit’s family didn’t receive any ransom call but police are trying to prepare a sketch with the help of Nikka. Police are checking CCTV footages collected from nearby areas.
Sources said the police suspect involvement of a relative. Mohit’s grandfather Awadh Narayan, who is reportedly a wealthy person in the village, told the police that they don’t have any doubt over anybody.
Superintendent of police (South) Anshuman Singh said, “Our team is working hard to nab the accused. We have also announced cash reward. Investigation is on.”
This is the third case of kidnapping in the city in the past three days. Two days ago, a one-and-a-half-year-old boy went missing from outside of his home. A 12-year-old boy was kidnapped from Bairagarh area.
