Denied two-wheeler, teenager ends life

A teenager committed suicide in Kamla Nagar on Saturday evening. The reason, the girl wanted a two-wheeler but her mother was opposed to it.

The police said Juhi, 15, daughter of Anil Kumar, hanged self in her house at Lumbini Parisar, close to Kotra Sultanabad. Family members saw her hanging and brought her down. She was rushed to a private hospital. However, she died later in the evening.

City superintendent of police (CSP) Rameshwar Singh Yadav said the preliminary inquiry reveals that the girl wanted a scooty but her mother refused to get her the vehicle. Juhi was studying in Class 11. The Kamla Nagar police have registered a case in this regard and have begun investigations.

In a separate incident, an unidentified man was found dead in Koh-e-Fiza. Police sources said that the person appears to be middleaged. The body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.

In yet another incident, pickpockets targeted a man in Mangalwara. The complainant, Balwinder Singh was travelling in a mini bus, when his pocket containing Rs. 3,500 cash apart from ATM card and licence was picked. The police have registered a case in this regard.
